Duane was born southwest of Hennessey on December 6, 1921 to Henry Calvin and Anna Bennett Croka and died Tuesday March 29, 2005 at St. Mary's Regional Hospital in Enid.

Duane grew up in the Hennessey and Lacey area and graduated from Hennessey High School. He attended Oklahoma A & M College until he entered the U. S. Army in WWII where he served in Japan. He married Virginia Walterschiedt on January 15, 1944 in Stillwater. They lived on a farm in the Dover community before moving into Hennessey in 1973. Duane was a member of the Dover School Board for fifteen years and a former member of the Hennessey Co-Op Board. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was actively involved in the St. Joseph's Men's Club.

Duane is survived by his wife Virginia of the home; one daughter, Diane Neeland and husband Kenneth; one son, Mark Croka; four grandchildren, Karen Swart and husband Richard, Kent Neeland, Kaci Croka, Lindsay Croka; two sisters, Lorene Best of Los Angeles, California and Connie Garrontte of Tucumcari, New Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ross Croka and Clyde Croka; one sister, Merna Harris and one daughter-in-law Robin Moulson Croka.

Recitation of the Rosary for Virginia Croka, 95 will be at 8:00 PM Wednesday August 15, 2018 at St. Josephs Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Thursday August 16, 2018 at St. Josephs officiated by Rev. Ed Menasco. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home. At the familys request the casket will remain closed.

Virginia was born at Hennessey on November 6, 1922 to John and Anna Iven Walterscheidt and died Wednesday August 8, 2018 at her home.

Virginia married Duane Croka in Stillwater on January 15, 1944. She was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church and St. Josephs Altar Society.

Virginia is survived by one daughter Diane Neeland and husband Kenneth of Bison; one son Mark Croka of Dover; four grandchildren Karen Swart and husband Richard, Kent Neeland and wife Kizzi, Kaci Tarrant and husband Lonnie, Lindsey Brown and husband Justin; three great-grandchildren Abby Swart, Lane Brown and Lilie Brown.

She was preceded in death by her husband Duane in 2005; one daughter-in-law Robin Croka in 2001; one brother Ed Walterscheidt, and one sister Beatrice Lee.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Josephs Altar Society of Hennessey or St. Josephs Altar Society of Bison with the funeral home serving as custodian of the funds.
