Roberta Sue Buffalohead Phillips, passed Sunday, October 26, 2014 at her home in Newkirk. She was 71 years of age.

Roberta was born April 26, 1943 at Washunga, Oklahoma, the daughter of Robert Buffalohead and Henrietta DeLano Buffalohead. She grew up in Webb City and was raised by her maternal grandparents John and Clara Downs. She was a 1961 graduate of Tonkawa High School and then attended Business College. She was a secretary at St. Anthonys Hospital in Oklahoma City for 35 years before her retirement in 2007. Her enjoyments included her grandbabies, her pet dog Little Bit, two cats Tiny and Miss Kitty, garage sales, thrift shopping and OU football. Roberta was a peaceful, loving, kind person who raised her five children by herself.

She is survived by her mother, Henrietta Williams of Newkirk five children, Eddie Phillips and wife Jenny, of Phoenix, Arizona, Lizette Barger and husband Jimmy, of El Reno, Oklahoma, Linda Holmes and husband Jeff, of Oklahoma City, Brian Phillips of Newkirk and Relice Wynn and wife Crystal, of Del City, Oklahoma 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren two brothers, Earl Williams of Oklahoma City, and Frank Williams of Newkirk three sisters, Lynn Dunson of Ponca City, Cheryl Williams of Seminole, Oklahoma and Donna Grace of Enid, Oklahoma other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father one brother, William Buffalohead one sister, Lila Tah two grandchildren, Isabelle Mae and Josephine Lila.

A prayer service will be held at the Johnnie Ray McCauley Gym, East of Newkirk at 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2014. A noon meal will be served on Wednesday, October 29th also at the Johnnie Ray McCauley Gym followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. Minister David Dunson will preside over the service. Burial will follow in the Washunga Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
