Raymond Dennis Russell, Sr.
August 22, 1938 - October 7, 2023
Raymond Dennis Russell, Sr., 85, of Kaw City, OK, left this life on October 7, 2023. No Viewing is scheduled. A Graveside Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 16, 2023, with Pastor Don Stanton officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK, 74601.
Ray was born on August 22, 1938, in Shidler, OK, to Ivan Leroy and Anita Vee (Lowery) Russell. He graduated from Shidler High School in 1957, and attended Green Country Technology Center in Okmulgee, OK. Ray married Cynthia Baldwin on February 9, 1962, in Newkirk, OK. Shortly after, they moved to California for ten years, then returned, and built a house in Kaw City where he spent the remainder of his years. He enjoyed fishing, building Model T's, and playing music. He obtained his pilot's license and enjoyed flying as well. Ray retired as a design draftsman.
Ray is survived by: his wife, Cindy, of the home; daughter, Susy Smith, of Blackwell, OK; son, Raymond D. Russell, Jr. of Kaw City, OK, grandchildren, Samantha Smith, Tanner Smith, Chase Russell, Chance Russell, Sarah Smith, Cady Smith, Chelsy Russell; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Billy Russell.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Tanner Smith, Chance Russell, Colt Donelson, James Smith, Chase Russell, Jack Baldwin and David Baldwin.
