Linda Preston-Jones
October 24, 1941 - January 29, 2024
Linda Preston-Jones, 82, beloved Mother, Grandmother, and sister, was called to her eternal resting place on January 29, 2024. She entered this world on October 24, 1941, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, born to Paul Andrew Komma and Cleo Belle Coates Komma.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2024, in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Newkirk, OK with Father Carson Krittenbrink officiating. Interment will follow in the Washunga Cemetery in Newkirk, Ok under the care of Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City, OK. Visitation will be at Grace Memorial Chapel on Friday, February 2, 2024, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Linda grew up in Newkirk and graduated from Newkirk High in 1959, She met the love of her life Earl Preston, and they were married in 1959, and they made Newkirk their home. He preceded her in death. Years later she married Mike Jones in 1982 and unfortunately, he preceded her in death. Linda was a registered Nurse for over 40 years, working at Ponca City Regional Hospital and then Ark City Hospital in the Outpatient Surgery unit. She retired in 2005. She was known for assisting residents in Newkirk with medical assistance and advice.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her two sons, Chris Preston and wife Ilah of Delmar, Delaware and Paul Preston and wife Barbara of Mulvane, KS, grandchildren, David Preston of Peck, KS, James Preston of Excelsior Springs, MO, C.J. Preston, Keith Preston, and Alan Preston all of Delmar, Delaware, great grandchildren, Paisley, Elle, Rowan, Brody, Macie, Everly, and Hayden. Also surviving are two sisters: Debbie Spore and husband Kim of Newkirk, OK and Paula Lynn Komma of Wichita, KS
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one son, Ricky Preston, and four sisters.
