Stanley Allen Smith, resident of Ponca City, passed Monday, September 12, 2011 at his home. He was 72 years of age.

Mr. Smith was born October 23, 1938 in Blackwell, Oklahoma. He was a graduate of Tonkawa High School. He served his country in the United States Marines and was honorably discharged on May 28, 1962. He then earned a Degree in Physics from Oklahoma State University. He was employed for several years as an Operator for O.G. E.. He was married to Evelyn Beard on July 26, 2002 in Ponca City. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church and the American Legion. His enjoyments included reading and television.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of the home one brother, Delbert Smith of Chicago, Illinois four stepchildren, Ted Eberley of Sanger, Texas, Sherry Tate and husband, Harry, of Ponca City, Casey Jack Osborn and wife, Vicki, of Ponca City, and Gina Gray and husband, Bryan, of Argyle, Texas numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Karen.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2011 at the Providence Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Grant presiding. Interment will follow in the Tonkawa I.O.O.F. Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
