WAYNOKA - The funeral for Kenneth Stephen Siler, 59, of Waynoka, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at Waynoka School multipurpose building. The Rev. Marvin Stuckey will officiate. Burial will be 3 p.m. in Tonkawa Cemetery. Arrangements are by Marshall Funeral Home, Waynoka LLC.

He was born June 24, 1950, in Ponca City to Kenneth Elmer and Audrey Lois Veal Siler and died Friday, April 30, 2010, at his home.


He was a graduate of Ponca City High School and attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University, where he received his degree in language arts. He then received his master's degree in speech pathology from Oklahoma State University.

He worked for a time as a radio advertising salesman in Clovis, N.M. He was involved in the cooperative Education Project. He taught at Cherokee, Aline-Cleo, Buffalo, Freedom, Taloga and Waynoka.

He married Katherine Heidlebaugh April 3, 1999, in Buffalo.

Surviving are his wife, Katherine; two sons, Darreld Gates of Yukon and Danial Gates of Lavern; one brother, Scott Siler of Newkirk; two sisters, Terri Cleveland of Florida and Leighann Buffard of Billings; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to First United Methodist Church, Waynoka.
