November 11, 1949 - July 21, 2021

Dr. Stephan Mark Pinkerton passed away peacefully at his home in Jenks, OK on July 21, 2021. He was born in Temple, Texas on November 11, 1949, to Dr. Raymond Edward and Iona Sue Pinkerton.

Stephan graduated from Ponca City High School in 1968. He received his undergraduate training at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, AR and completed his MD at St. George’s University School of Medicine. In 1987, he started his Family Practice residency in El Dorado, AR. That year, Stephan married Nancy Esch. They had one son, Mark Edward Pinkerton in 1989. Dr. Pinkerton had a family medicine practice in El Dorado, AR for several years before moving to Arkadelphia, AR and switching to emergency medicine. Stephan retired in 2019 and recently moved to Jenks, OK to be near his son and family in Oklahoma.

He is survived by his son, Mark Pinkerton, of Tulsa, OK; brother, Michael Wayne Pinkerton, of Little Rock, AR; his sister, Sue Beth (Dr. Jim) Costin of Tupelo, MS.; niece Chrissy (Greg) Hogan of Texarkana, TX; and nephews, Corben, Caellum, Finnley and Quinnlin Hogan, and former wife and friend, Nancy Pinkerton; stepson Brad Esch of Tonkawa, OK.; and stepson Jay Esch of Merritt Island, FL. He was proceeded in death by his parents, his nephew, Nicholas James Costin, and stepson Casey Esch.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Trout Funeral Home of Tonkawa with Kevin Ditmore officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Tonkawa, 505 Thunderbird Rd, Tonkawa, OK 74653.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association,12345 N. Lamar Blvd.,Suite 200, Austin, TX 78753.
