Margaret E. Miller, resident of Ponca City, passed on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at the Ponca City Medical Center. She was 78 years of age.
Margaret was born February 17, 1931 at Two Egg, Florida, the only child of John Eugene Duce and Maxie Griffin Duce. She attended and graduated from Marianna, Florida schools. She was married to Francis Keith Miller on October 7, 1950 in Donaldsonville, Georgia. The couple made their first home in Florida prior to moving to Ponca City in 1954. Margaret was a loving mother and took great pride being a homemaker. At the time when most people are retiring, Margaret found a new purpose in caring for the elderly. She touched many lives in her loyal and faithful care always willing to spend time and visit for hours. Margaret was a Valley View Home Extension Club member and a member of the Ponca City First Baptist Church and Miriam Sunday School Class.
Margaret is survived by her four children, Terry Hibbets and husband, Gary, of Ponca City, Kenny Miller and wife, Shirley of Collierville, Tennessee, Robyn Heerwagen and husband, Paul, of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Scott Miller of San Francisco, California; six grandchildren, Kurt Hibbets, of Dallas, Texas, Kyle Hibbets and wife, Nikki, of Ponca City, Paul Heerwagen IV and wife, Julie, and Callie Heerwagen, of Edmond, Oklahoma, Jennifer Miller of Tulsa and Kristin Miller of Muskogee, Oklahoma; three great grandchildren, Hayden, Kylee and Carter Hibbets; numerous nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Francis, on December 21, 2002.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 30, 2009 in the Chapel of the First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Larry Nigh, Pastor of Northeast Baptist Church presiding. Interment will be in the Tonkawa I.O.O.F. Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
Casket bearers will be Randall Wilburn, Jim Caudle, Tim Scully, Scott OHair, Bill Gibson and Rick Coffelt. Honorary casket bearers will be Bob Monger, Jack Cutler and Chuck Depew.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Millers name to Alzheimer Research, Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, 825 NE 13th, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73104.
