Tonkawa Painter's Rites Are Pending
Claude Elmer (Sandy) Jenkins, 69, long-time Tonkawa resident, died at 2:20 p.m. Sunday at his home 610 North Ninth.
Born in Kansas, June 24, 1890, he had been a resident of Tonkawa since 1905. He was a painter.
Survivors include his wife of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Balconi of Martinez, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Kumkle and Mrs. Mae McCoy of Grand Junction, Colo; two brothers, Jess and David, both of Blackwell; one grandaughter and four great-grandchildren. One son, Frank, preceded him in death.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the McCafferty Funeral Home in Tonkawa with Rex Kimbrough, minister of the Tonkawa Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in the Tonkawa IOOF Cemetery.
