A graveside service for Hazel Sturtz Cunningham, 86, of Tonkawa, will be 10 a.m. today in Tonkawa I.O.O.F. Cemetery. The Rev. Richard Thomasson will officiate. Arrangements are by Tonkawa Funeral Home, Tonkawa.
She was born Feb. 19, 1921, on her grandfather’s farm near Medford to Orein Leroy and Alta Mae McKeeman Sturtz and died Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, at Willow Haven Nursing Home, Tonkawa.
She graduated from high school in Jefferson.
She married Frank Woodrow Cunningham April 19, 1941, in Pond Creek. They moved to Tonkawa in 1956 from Medford. He died Feb. 2, 1987. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Tonkawa, Lydia Sunday school class and worked for Henry’s as a story clerk for 12 years before retiring. She was a seamstress and quilter.
Surviving are two sons, Frank Cunningham of Corinth, Texas, and John Cunningham of Amarillo, Texas; three daughters, Janice Neely and Linda Neely, both of Tonkawa, and Bonnie Lambert of Northborough, Mass.; two sisters, Mildred Isaacs of Medford and Frances Watts of Pond Creek; one brother, Fred Sturtz of Enid; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband, Frank, she was preceded in death by one brother and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home, 400 E. Grand Ave., Tonkawa, OK 74653 to Elevator Fund First Baptist Church.
