Larry Ken Brewer

November 10, 1939 - April 18, 2013

Larry K. Brewer, age 73, of Choctaw, OK passed away on April 18, 2013 at home after a 2 year battle with ALS. He was born November 10, 1939 in Enid, OK. He was the youngest son of Ervin and Ruth (Bullard) Brewer.

Larry grew up in Fairview, Woodward, Duncan, and Tonkawa, Oklahoma, graduating from Tonkawa High School in 1958. He attended Northern Oklahoma Jr. College and graduated from University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond in 1963. He met his life long love while attending UCO. They married in 1963 as he was joining the Air Force that fall. He served his country proudly for 21 years with duty assignments in Biloxi MS, Gibbsboro NJ, Kotzebue AK, Camp Springs MD, Seoul Korea, Fairborn, OH and Midwest City, OK.

After retiring from the Air Force in 1984 he worked for USPA & IRA (now First Command) for two years and then for the State of Oklahoma in the Emergency Management Department until retirement in 2001. Thru all the years his love for his Lord and for music kept him actively serving in local churches and choirs. Larry loved his family and always sought to stay connected to extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Vern and Dean.

He is survived by his loving wife Barbara of 49 years, son Scott and wife Kristin of Clear Lake, TX, son Lance and wife Missy of Fayetteville, AR; grandchildren Caynen and Jordan Brewer of Clear Lake, TX and Austin and Kelsey Brewer of Fayetteville, AR; nieces and nephews in Oklahoma and Texas; and numerous cousins and so very many loving friends.

Family to receive friends at the funeral home Sunday between 3-5 PM. Service will be 10 am, April 22, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Midwest City interment will be at 2 pm, at I.O.O.F Cemetery, Tonkawa, OK.
