Mirth E. Beall, 82, of Tonkawa, Okla., was welcomed into heaven on Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, in Ponca City, Okla. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Anderson Funeral Home Chapel, Tonkawa, with the Rev. Dr. Janice Sharp officiating. A burial will then follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Tonkawa. Services are arranged under Anderson Funeral Home, Tonkawa.
She was born Jan. 1, 1932, at her family home near Salt Fork, Okla., to Leo and Florence Gilbert. She was a 1950 graduate of Lamont High School. On July 5, 1950, she married Darl Dowell in Lamont, Okla. Of this union, they were blessed with four children, who are Joan Aldrich of Shawnee, Okla., Darla Tharp and husband Warren of Tonkawa, Jay Dowell and wife Mira of Sentul City, Indonesia, and Patrick Dowell of Lamont. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Tonkawa, former member of Willing Workers Home Extension Club and the quilting group through her church. She was an award-winning pie baker, excellent cook and loved sharing her dishes with friends and family. She also was well known for the greeting cards, with her personal messages that she often sent to many.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Dave Gilbert and Sam Gilbert; and one sister, Ruth Lanter.
She married Dale Beall on Nov. 11, 1991, and is survived by him and his son, Tom Beall of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one brother, Richard and wife Judy Gilbert of Winfield, Mo.; and grandchildren, Ashley Gourd and husband Johnson of Porter, Okla., Ryan Aldrich and wife Rebekah of Shawnee, Okla., Shanon Tharp of Ponca City, Okla., Jaron Dowell of Stillwater, Okla., Justin Dowell of Sentul City, Indonesia, Bryan Dowell of Medford, Okla., and Derek Dowell of Stillwater, Okla. She also enjoyed five great-grandchildren, Abby and JJ Gourd, Porter, Okla., and Luke, Hank and Tuck Aldrich of Shawnee, Okla.
Pallbearers for the memorial service are Ryan Aldrich, Johnson Gourd, Bryan Dowell, Jaron Dowell, Justin Dowell and Derek Dowell.
