Eva Lee Applegate, former resident of Ponca City, passed away at her home in Westminster Colorado on October 21, 2017. She had lived most of her life in the Ponca City area and moved to Westminster Colorado in 2008 to be near her daughter and family. A graveside committal service will be held on Thursday October 26 at the Tonkawa Oklahoma I.O.O.F. cemetery.

Eva Lee was born November 22, 1925 in Woodward Oklahoma, the daughter of Emmett and Zula Jarman. She moved to Tonkawa Oklahoma at the age of three and attended school there, graduating from High School in 1943. She earned an Associate Degree from Northern Oklahoma College and later attended the University of Oklahoma.

Eva Lee lived and worked in Oklahoma City for five years prior to moving back to reside in Tonkawa, while working in Ponca City at Conoco in the Tax Department for six years.

Eva Lee and Edwin Eberle were married in Tonkawa April 2, 1953 and established their home in Ponca City where their three children were born. Edwin preceded his wife in death in March of 1990. Eva later married Raymond Anderson of Ponca City, where they continued to live until his death in 1996. Eva Lee married Stanley Applegate of Victoria, Texas in 1999, where they lived for two years before moving back to Ponca City in 2001. Mr Applegate passed away in 2003.

Eva Lee was also preceded in death by her parents, her brother Harold Jarman of Ponca City, and a daughter, Susan Lynn Eberle.

Eva was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Ponca City, where she attended the Disciples Sunday School class. At the time of her death she was a member of the Westminster Christian Church in Westminster Colorado.

Eva Lee is survived by one son, Brent Eberle and his wife, Julie of Frisco Texas, and one daughter, Lee Ann Stuemky and her husband David of Westminster Colorado along with six grandchildren including Kara Eberle of Austin Texas, Collin Eberle of Bethlehem Pennsylvania, Jamie Torrico of Boulder Colorado, Andrea Stuemky of Fort Collins Colorado, Tyler Stuemky of Portales New Mexico and Ashley Stuemky of Fort Collins Colorado. At the time of her death Eva Lee had four great grandchildren and was also survived by two nieces and several cousins along with the families of Raymond Anderson and Stanley Applegate.
