Ronald Wayne Pettit, age 84 of Ponca City, OK, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022.
Wayne was born on May 20, 1938, to Roland and Anna (Sherron) Pettit in Tonkawa, OK. He had 3 siblings, Paul, Roleta, and Ernie. He graduated from Ponca City High School. He began farming at a young age and farmed his entire life (mostly wheat). He always had a beautiful herd of cattle.Wayne developed a love of history, mainly World War II. He also had a gift to gab to anyone who would listen.
He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, brother, Paul Pettit, nephews, Bob Pettit and Chris Noblett.
He is survived by sister, Roleta Noblett and husband, Robert; brother Ernie Pettit and wife, Susie; nephew Marty Pettit and wife, Kelly; niece, Trudi Bergland and husband, Don, and numerous cousins.
Wayne's graveside service will be held Friday, June 17, 2022, at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Tonkawa, OK, at 10:00 AM with Marty Pettit officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be John Turnipseed, Marty Schneeberger, Larry Schneeberger, Ricky Steichen, and Alexander Hawzipta.
Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Tonkawa, 505 Thunderbird Rd, Tonkawa, OK 74653.
