On the afternoon of February 10, 2022, Forest Roland Frazier of Tonkawa passed away at the age of 83. Roland was born to Forest and Doris Frazier in 1938 in Tonkawa. He attended school at Pratt Center and graduated from Tonkawa High School in 1956. He was a member of the 1952 and 1953 State Championship football teams. He joined the Army National Guard, where he served for 17 years. He married Kay Marie Preston in 1958, and they were married for 64 years.
Roland worked at Barker's Machine Shop and hauled hay before beginning his career at Conoco's Ponca City Refinery. He retired as a lead operator after nearly 30 years of service.
Following his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, volunteering at the Tonkawa Food Bank and the Tonkawa Museum, and drinking coffee with his many friends. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where he served on the Session.
He is survived by his wife, Kay; son, Scott of Tonkawa; daughter, Toni Osburn and husband David of Bartlesville; granddaughters, Claire Osburn and Julia Osburn; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ray Frazier, and grandson Ryan Osburn.
Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 21 at the First Presbyterian Church in Tonkawa with Joe Kreger officiating. A private, family burial will take place at IOOF Cemetery, Tonkawa. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Tonkawa, 505 Thunderbird Rd, Tonkawa, OK 74653.
