Juanda Elaine Arent
July 25, 1947 - April 19, 2024
Juanda Arent, resident of Tonkawa, died April 19, 2024.
Juanda was born on July 25, 1947, to parents Marjorie and Fred Spears. Being the youngest, she grew up working in her family cafe and managing the community swimming pool. She was an Eastern Star, volunteer firefighter, and choir member.
She married David on March 15, 1982. She was never only a mother of four, grandmother of 13, and great-grandmother of three; several generations of friends knew her as mom or mamaw. After retiring from nursing, Juanda was a substitute teacher for Tonkawa's Ag class and loved taking her dog Molly with her to school. She received an honorary chapter FFA degree award and Blue and Gold FFA award for her time spent with all of the kids.
Juanda was a nurse for 46 years and spent her life helping every person that she could.
In her free time, Juanda enjoyed playing cards, singing, fishing, women's bowling league, softball, and infamously, cooking. She also loved going to the lake.
She is preceded in death by her parents Marjorie and Fred Spears; daughter Lynn Snyder; brother Johnny Spears; and sister-in-law Connie Spears.
She is survived by her husband David Arent; children Brian and Sarah Snyder, Christine and Steve Sawyer, David Gordon and Amber Voelzke; grandchildren Sara Sawyer, Zach Snyder, Hunter Snyder, Shelby Sawyer, Taylor Cox, Hannah and Patience Murray, Sean Snyder, Benjamin "Jack" Graves, Spencer Sawyer, Annie Snyder, Christi Anson, and Clayton Eudaily; and three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Humanity Hospice, 1109 N Bryant Ave #100, Edmond, OK 73034.
