Martha Mary BegwinNovember 1, 1923 - July 30, 2021
Martha Begwin 97, went to be with her beloved Lord and Savior, Friday, July 30, 2021.
Martha was born November 1, 1923 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. She attended St. Mary's School. After graduation she attended Southwestern Business College in Ponca City and she went to work for Continental Oil company, where she worked for ten years.
She married Oran M. Begwin in 1952 and they moved to Oscelo, Iowa, and later to Manhattan, Kansas. They returned to Ponca City and bought Community Gasoline Company. She was the office manager for the company. Martha was an avid bridge player, delivered meals on wheels, was an active member of both St. Francis Guild and St. Mary's Catholic Church. She and her husband traveled, enjoying trips with Prime Timers and spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her husband. parents, and two brothers. Martha is survived by two children, Catherine Hookanson of Ponca City and James Begwin and wife Michelle of Laredo,Texas. She also leaves three grandchildren: Kimberly Hookanson, HalleJane and Luke Begwin.
Rosary will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 6pm at Trout Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be 10 am Thursday, August 5, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
