Vincent John Rice, age 60, a longtime resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away on January 10, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. A Rosary service will be held at 6 PM on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Trout Funeral Home Chapel. Catholic Mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 10 AM. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.
Vince was born on July 14, 1965, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to RoseMary and Buzz Rice. He grew up in Ponca City before moving to Wellington, Kansas, where he graduated in 1985. Vincent later returned to Ponca City in 2003, where he remained.
Vince was a skilled mechanic and a true "jack of all trades." He was always tinkering with cars or working on a project and was everyone's go-to mechanic. He worked for many years as an automotive mechanic and later in aviation as an inspector. His hands were rarely still, and his knowledge and willingness to help others were unmatched.
A lover of classic cars, Vince took pride in his vehicles, especially his first car, a 1972 orange Nova, his favorite color was orange, as well as his Studebaker and his 1971 Chevy pickup. He also loved classic rock music, with The Cars, AC/DC and Def Leppard among his favorite bands.
Vince married the love of his life, Denee, on November 29, 1986, in Wellington, Kansas, and recently celebrated 39 years of marriage. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family. He was known for his great personality, sharp sense of humor, and the ability to make people laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Denee Rice of Ponca City; daughters Alexandria Rice and partner Jack Gaither of Tulsa; Alyssa Rice and fiance Blake Lawson of Ponca City; Krystle Scobee, grandchildren Aspen Hall, Nattiel Scobee; step father, Milton Bradley of Wellington, KS; siblings Shelly Cook Deas and husband, Matt, of Edmond, Lori Cook Rader of Edmond, Kristy Cook and son, Mark Gula of Guthrie; father in law Wilbur Scobee of Wellington, KS and many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, RoseMary and Buzz Rice; Dudley Cook; grandparents Maria and Juan Velasquez; and Edna and Horace Rice.
Casketbearers are Travis Greenhagen, Ramiro Casteneda, Willie Lester, Rodney Cantrell, Johnny Velasquez, and Kyle Moberly.
Honorary Casketbearers will be Larry Dugan, Milton Bradley, Alex Hernandez, Grady Rickman, Doug Spicer, and Justin Velasquez.
Vincent will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, generous heart, love of family, and the laughter he brought into every room. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
