October 10, 1929 - April 27, 2022

Darleen Leonora (Hill) Kassen passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022 in Ponca City, OK. She was 92 years old.

Darleen was born October 10, 1929 in New Haven, MO to Trevor Forrest and Selma Matilda (Menke) Hill. She grew up in Missouri and graduated high school in Slater, MO in 1947. Just a year later, she married the love of her life, Francis "Jack" Jewell Kassen on October 16, 1948 in Carrollton, MO. To this union, they had seven children: Tim, Mike, Richard, Margaret, Charles, Karen, and Danny.

Darleen was a homemaker and loved caring for her family. She was also very active in the community and her church. She sang in the St. Mary's choir and was very active in Sweet Adelines for over 30 years, even serving as the president of the Ponca City chapter in 1980.

She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Darleen is preceded in death by her parents Trevor and Selma Hill, husband Francis Jack Kassen, and her brother Marvin Hill.

She is survived by her children: son Tim and wife Suzanne Kassen of Tulsa, OK, son Mike and wife Delene Kassen of Glenpool, OK, son Richard Kassen of Enid, OK, daughter Margaret and husband Mark Galvin of Boise, ID, son Charles and wife Tia Kassen of Ponca City, OK, daughter Karen and husband Spencer Larimer of Stillwater, OK, and son Danny and wife Kim Kassen of Oklahoma City, OK. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held of Darleen on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Trout Funeral Home with a Rosary service following at 6:00 PM at the Trout Funeral Home Chapel in Ponca City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church 408 S 8th St, Ponca City, OK 74601 with Father Carson Krittenbrink officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Ponca City.

The family would like to thank the Via Chrsti nursing staff for taking such good care of their mother during the last years of her life. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Mary's Catholic Education Fund.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.
