Kenneth Joseph Born, 83, of Ponca City, OK, passed away on September 24, 2025, at the age of 83. A Rosary Ceremony was held at 6:00 pm, Friday, September 26. 2025, at Trout Funeral Home Chapel. A Mass was celebrated at 10:00 am, Saturday, September 27, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK, 74601.
Kenneth was born to Mary (Spielbusch) and Lawrence Born on March 20th, 1942 in Ponca City. Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Rhea Dawn (Pruitt) Born; his parents; and one sister. Survivors include: daughters, Catherine Bates and Cynthia Dresback; 7 grandchildren' and 3 great-grandchildren,
Ken attended and graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School. After graduation, Kenneth served 7 years with the Army Reserves. Growing up, Kenneth contributed to the maintenance of the Jens Marie Hotel. A few of his responsibilities included painting rooms and changing the light bulbs on the sign at the top of the building. As a career, he worked as a typesetter for the Ponca City News until retirement. Additionally, both Ken and his wife owned and operated Ken Born Small Engine Repair.
Pallbearers will be Brittany Born, Jace Evans, Kenton Evans, and Glen Dresback. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 408 S. 8th St, Ponca City, OK 74601, or a portable meal program for the elderly of your choice.
