Harvey Eugene Wirtz of Ponca City died Tuesday March 15th 2022 at the age of 92 years old. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.
Harvey Eugene Wirtz was born on September 14, 1929 in Caldwell, KS to Harve Emil Wirtz and Lavina Elizabeth Mare (Koenig) Wirtz. He attended Blackwell Public Schools graduating in 1947. He married Zelda Mae Taber on June 17, 1950 in Brewster, Washington. Gene was a truck driver for most of his adult life. He retired from the Transportation Department of Conoco Oil.
Gene is survived by his 4 children: Connie Wirtz, Jimmy Wirtz (Robin), Jerry Wirtz (Jeanelle), Lonnie Wirtz (Anna), and his sister Betty Campbell; 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren.
Gene was preceded in death by his wife Zelda, his parents Harve and Lavina, and his brother Max.
Services are scheduled for Wednesday March 23 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery of Blackwell, OK. There is a public viewing scheduled for Tuesday March 22nd from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m at Trout Funeral Home of Ponca City.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma or First Lutheran Church of Ponca City.
