William "Bill" Howell

Ponca City--Funeral for William 'Bill' Howell, Ponca City, will be at 3 p.m. Monday at First Free Will Baptist Church, Ponca City, with Rev. David Bigger, pastor, officiating.
Mr. Howell died Thursday [ 25 Jan 2001] at a Lawton Hospital. Burial will be at Round Grove Cemetery under direction of Trout Funeral Home. He was born Oct. 7, 1904, in Watonga. He later moved with his parents to a farm southwest of Ponca City in 1910 where he attended Union School District #98. He married Grace Sober Sept. 10, 1929. After she died, he married Ann Frankenfield Oct. 21, 1949. She died Dec. 3, 1997. He was employed by Continental Oil Company in Ponca City for many years and drove a school bus for the Ponca City School System.
Survivors include his daughter, Billie Jean Horton and her husband Frank, Lawton; two grandchildren: Michael Horton and his wife Shana, Lawton; and Rachel Shockey and her husband Tommy, Lake Dallas, Texas; three great grandchildren: Wyatt Horton, Ryan Shockey, and Lunden Horton, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Mary Nottingham, Myrl Tague, and Clara Howell; and a brother, Floyd Howell. Memorial contributions may be made to First Free Will Baptist Church, 1900 E. Hubbard, Ponca City, 74604.
