Judy Nottingham
June 21, 1944 - December 30, 2023
Judith Loraine (Welch) Nottingham, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was called to her eternal resting place on Saturday, December 30, 2023.
Judy entered this world in Ponca City, OK on June 21st, 1944, the daughter of Fred and Juanita (Hall) Welch. Judy grew up in Ponca City and graduated from Ponca City High School in 1962. She married Bud Nottingham, and they made their home in Ponca City. Judy loved children and thoroughly enjoyed working with preschoolers at First Lutheran School. She went on to own and operate Tastee Freez and later, following her first retirement, she fulfilled a lifelong dream by owning and operating Nottingham's Grand Cafe on 5th and Grand in downtown Ponca City. Judy loved spending time with family and spoiling her grandchildren. If she wasn't putting on elaborate meals and get-together's for the people she loved, she could be found in her garden or involved in a game of dominoes or cards.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Owen "Bud" Nottingham; daughter, Amy Lyndell Furber; parents, Fred and Juanita Welch; and brother, Johnny Welch.
Judy is survived by: her daughter, Kim Bridges and husband, Dennis, of Knoxville, TN; son, Steven Nottingham of Ponca City; grandchildren, Aubrey Lyndelle Powers of Ponca City, Joseph Furber and wife, Natalie, of Ponca City, and Drew Bridges of Knoxville, TN; great-granddaughter, Amelia Lyndell Furber of Ponca City; son-in-law, Randy Furber of Ponca City. She is also survived by beloved niece Pam Shinogle and many other nieces, nephews and friends.
Viewing will be held from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Monday, January 1, 2024, and 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Trout Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Trout Funeral Home Chapel. Chaplain Justin Pickup with Hospice of North Central Oklahoma will officiate. Procession will immediately follow to the interment at Round Grove Cemetery, west of Ponca City.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Bridges, Drew Bridges, Joseph Furber, Steve Nottingham, Devon Wilkins, Randy Furber, and Cameron Sherbon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Lutheran School, 1101 N 4th St, Ponca City, OK 74601, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
