Dorothy Phyllis Bailey, 95, of Tonkawa, OK passed away October 26, 2013 at the Ponca City Medical Center.
Dorothy was born August 11, 1918 in Honeywell, Kansas to Cora Elva Wilkerson and Emmett Harrison Swan. Dorothy grew up in Braman, OK, graduated from Braman High School and married Archie Burton Bailey in 1935. Dorothy has lived in Mulhall, OK, Ponca City, OK, Freer, TX, Lance Creek, WY, Nardin, OK and in Tonkawa at the time of her death. She is a member of the Christian Life Church in Tonkawa. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Bert Bailey and his wife, Janet of Katy, TX, Kay Kreger of Ponca City, OK, Betty Shultz and her husband, Chuck of Tonkawa, OK and James Bailey and his wife, Pat of Tonkawa, OK; her brother, Glen Swan of Colorado Springs, CO, her son-in-law, Westley Basson, Bristow, OK and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and other family members.
She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her daughter, Phyllis Basson; two brothers, Herman Swan and Duane Shriner; and a sister, Thelma Dowd.
A private family service will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of the Anderson Funeral Home, Tonkawa, Okla.
