Virginia Ann Williams, 76, of Ponca City, passed away Monday, July 2, 2012 at the Ponca City Nursing and Rehab Center. Born on July 18, 1935 in Ponca City to Ira Blue and Irenia Watson.
Virginia was a lifelong area resident attending Attucks Schools. She had been a domestic engineer for over 25 years, Housekeeper for Frontier Federal Bank, Food Service with Ponca City High School retiring in 1995, and then she was a cook at The Mission until illness forced her to resign in 2010.
Virginia enjoyed garage sales, fishing, watching TV especially Ellen and Jerry Springer and dining at Perkins Restaurant Bakery. Virginia was a member of St. John Baptist Church, The Order of The Eastern Star, Attucks School Reunion Planning Committee and Kay County Election Board.
Virginia was preceded in death by her motherIrenia Watson Williams, fatherIra Blue, brothers JD Williams and Robert Williams, daughterLucinda Williams Swygert and SonInLaw Antonio Abington.
She is survived by 5 daughters and Sonsinlaw Deborah Williams and Larry Lee of Ponca City, Sherri and Raymond Pollard, Sr. of Ponca City, Regenia Gates of Ponca City, Valarie Abington of Arkansas City, KS and Lucretia and Marcellus Lambert of Ponca City. Grandchildren Minister Alisha Williams, Raymond Pollard, Jr., Syrah Pollard, Darrin Williams, Tanisha Williams, Willie Swygert, Weslie Swygert, Ramonda and Joshua Mowdy, Ricky Lee, Jr., Denise and Robert Gibbs, Felicia and Virgil Townley, Calinda Lee, Antoinette and Alvin Giles, Jr., Rashawna Pollard and Ashton Gates. 29 Great Grandchildren and a host of cousins.
Funeral Services will be 11 am, Monday, July 9, 2012 at St. John Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond J. Petties, JR. officiating.Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Cemetery, Ponca City, OK.
