Mark Edward Williams, 53, Worcester, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 29, 2010, at his home.
He was born on August 22, 1956, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to Cecil and Ann Williams. Mark graduated from Ponca City High School in 1974. He received a BS in wildlife ecology management from OSU in 1982 and worked in Idaho for the U.S. Forestry Service. Mark moved to Massachusetts where he worked for several printing businesses. In 2000 he attained his certification in Microsoft Windows NT Administration from Clark University and in 2005 he received his UNIX systems administrator certification from New Horizons Computer Institute, both schools in Massachusetts. Since 2000, he had worked for IBM, Subaru of New England, AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, and other businesses as a network engineer and systems administrator. Mark was an avid photographer and he enjoyed sailing, motorcycling, ballroom dancing, and making silver jewelry.
He is survived by his brother, Steve Williams and wife, Kathy of Yukon, Oklahoma two sisters, Pam Bauer and husband, Patrick of Land OLakes, Florida and Cindy Tackwell and husband, Steven of Independence, Kansas four nephews and nieces, John Connor of Tampa, Florida, Michelle Connor children of Land OLakes, Florida, M. Todd Crisp Melanie and children of Spring,Texas and Lisa Burnam Matt of Golden, Colorado cousins, Frances Davis, Mark and Jere Hurd, and Wendell and Norma Hurd, all of Ponca City, Oklahoma uncle and aunt, Spike and Lois Whisenhunt of Sacramento, California and cousins, Ann Dickey of Sacramento, California and Robert Williams of Lewisville, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 25, 2010, at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Scott Spencer of Albright United Methodist Church will officiate.
