Jay M. Warner, 88, of Ponca City, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday,
April 9, 2013 at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Jay M. Warner Jr. was born October 1st, 1924 to Jay M. and Carrie (Belt)
Warner in Ponca City, Oklahoma. He served his country in the US Army
during World War II from 1943-1945. He married Jacqueline Trebbe on
December 3, 1944. They had a daughter, Jaye Michelle, in 1958. He
married Rosalee Lefebure on July 25, 1988.
He worked at various auto repair shops until he opened Ponca Body &
Paint Shop in June 1951 with Wayne Bristow. The business bought their
first wrecker in August of 1951. The partnership separated in January
1975 with Jay establishing his new business, Jay Warner Body & Paint at
1300 E. South Avenue. Jay Warner Body & Paint was owned and operated by
Jay until May of 2006. He was a well-respected businessman for 55 years
in Ponca City and the surrounding area.
Jay enjoyed traveling and was an active member in The First Church of
the Nazarene. He took great joy in his children, grandchildren, and
great-grandchildren.
Jay was loved and admired by those who knew him. His family feels that
he set a great example for them to follow. He was always kind, giving,
honest, hard-working and fair. He made each one of them feel special and
loved beyond measure. He was a wonderful father and grandfather. He was
unique in the fact that he never had a bad word to say of anyone and
instead would find a person’s good qualities and praise them for those.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents.
Jay is survived by his wife, Rosalee; daughter, Michelle and her husband
Larry Popovich; stepdaughter, Teri and her husband Mike Albee; stepson,
Bruce Lefebure; grandchildren: Kelsey, Mindi, Jonathan Jay, Sunie,
Crissie, Cassie, Hayden, Ally and Cassandra; and eight
great-grandchildren.
The service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 12, 2013 at First Church of
the Nazarene, Pastor Larry Hall will officiate. Interment will follow in
Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. Casket bearers will be K.J. Holloway,
Terry Holloway, Wayne Scheffel, Mike Gurley, Rene Palomo, and Bill
Correll. Honorary casket bearers will be Bruce Lefebure, Tyler Gatz,
Rick Stolhand, Jeremy Swinford, Jarred Fry, Bob McWhorter and Mike
Albee.
