It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Timothy Michael Rathbun of Ponca City, OK on December 28, 2020 at the age of 38 years. Family and friends may come by Trout Funeral Home on Sunday, January 3, 2021, between 12pm and 6pm or Monday, January 4, 2021, between 9am and 8pm to pay their respects. There will be a graveside service at 2pm on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the Direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
Timothy was born on September 20, 1982 in Streator, IL at St. Mary's Hospital to Edward and Rose Rathbun. He lived in Streator until the age of 5 when the family moved to Caldwell, KS. They lived there until Timothy completed 8th grade and then made their home in Ponca City. He graduated from Ponca City High School in 2001.
Timothy then enlisted in the United States Army in 2001 and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and was honorably discharged in 2008. He then attended college at Northwestern Oklahoma State University and received his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in Accounting. He worked with Baskins and Hadley, and then moved to work with Gamma Stream as well as John Kramer, CPA. Timothy loved to play disc golf and helped to establish the Ponca City Disc Golf Course. He also enjoyed playing games, spending time with his family and friends, and recently discovered his love for painting and did several artworks.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children Mary and Tommy Rathbun, his parents Edward and Rose Rathbun, his sisters Jessica and husband Jace Gullic, Theresa and husband Jeremy Sacket, four nieces, three nephews, and numerous relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Jesse D and Lorraine Straughn, his grandfather Lee D. Rathbun, his great-grandparents Jesse C. and Velora Straughn and Nicholas and Jennie Latino, uncle Charles D. Straughn, as well as great and great-great aunts and uncles, and a few cousins.
