Wanda Psikal, longtime Kildare resident, passed away Friday, September 20, 2013 at the Ponca City Medical Center. She was 87 years of age.
Wanda was born on December 11, 1925 in Newkirk, Oklahoma to Edgar and Lola (Summers) Randol. She attended Uncas schools and was a 1943 Ponca City High School graduate. On August 15, 1943 Wanda married Elmer John Psikal Jr. at the Kildare Methodist Church Parsonage. The couple made their first home in the Kaw City area before moving to the Kildare area.
Wanda was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church of Newkirk and was a former President of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary. She loved music, especially her polka music and gospel music. Her greatest past time was the get-togethers in the shop.
Wanda is survived by her daughter, LaWanda Psikal of Ponca City, Oklahoma and son, Terry Psikal of Kildare, Oklahoma; siblings, Willetta Horinek, Bob Randol, Peggy Randol, Rusty Randol of Newkirk, Oklahoma and Skeezix Randol of Wichita, Kansas; plus numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Elmer John, Jr on February 6, 1994; a son, John Edgar in 2011; 4 siblings, Irene Russell, Frances Tull, Merle Randol, and Paul Randol.
A farewell get together will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Casket bearers are Tracy Parker, Jeff Psikal, Joe Buck, Bobby Randol, Rusty Randol and Skeezix Randol. Honorary casket bearers will be; Terry Psikal, JR Fry, Buddy Pingry, Colton Parker, Jim Criner and Noah Boone.
