Mary K. "Cathy" Powell, age 61, resident of Ponca City, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018 at her home in the Osage.
A memorial ceremony to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 15, 2018 in the chapel at Trout Funeral Home & Crematory with Amy Mabry officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
Cathy was born on June 26, 1956 in Cumberland, NC and was raised by Robert Anderson Bailey and Mary Helen Capps Bailey. Dennis H. Powell became her husband on May 18, 1990 in Ponca City. They lived the peaceful easy going life in the Osage, spending their time with family and dear friends. Cathy loved that easy going life at home, but she also enjoyed getting out and about to go shopping, run errands, or test her luck at the casino. Her wit and wisdom were the family treasure. With a patient ear for listening, a strong shoulder to lean on and a loving heart, Cathy was the glue for her family as well as a powerful presence in good and bad times.
Survivors include her beloved husband Dennis of the home, children: Bobby Holt, Mary Jackson and husband Jason Johnson, Chris Jackson and wife Chelsea, all of Ponca City; siblings: Donna Bush and significant other Bill Pankhurst of Ponca City, Alex Dischhauser of Ponca City, Lisa Dischhauser of Ponca City, Robin Simmons and husband Don of Ponca City, Keith Bailey of Imperial, MO, Roger Bailey and wife Beth of IL, Richard Bailey of IL, Chuck Bailey and wife Beth of IL, Tom Bailey of IL, Wayne Roe and wife Donna of Newkirk, OK, Jim Roe and wife Marsha of Grenola, KS, and Dennis Butler of Arkansas City; grandchildren: Tyler Jackson and girlfriend Maddie Newcomb, Tegan Johnson, Ashlyn Rosborough, Robert Rosborough, Kayelynn Rosborough, Parker Jackson and Dylon Fahs; great grandson Zayden Rosborough; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother Maxine bailey, brother Michael Ballinger, granddaughter Kylie Hock, sister in law Beth Bailey, and step brother Bobby Bailey.
