Lora Fay Morland, longtime resident of Ponca City, was called home Thursday evening, May 5, 2011. She was 86 years of age.
Lora was born October 2, 1924 at Dighton, Kansas, the daughter of Ira Clarence Potts and Daisy May Lord Potts. She was a graduate of Ponca City High School. She married Bill Sindelar on October 9, 1945 and he preceded her in death on March 11, 1972. She married Jack Allen on July 3 1977 and he preceded her in death on March 5, 1978. She was then married to Eithel Morland on October 10, 1980 and he preceded her in death on February 6, 2011.
Lora was employed for 20 plus years as a pastry cook for Conoco, retiring in the early 1980s. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church. Her enjoyments included quilting, her grandchildren spending time with her family, playing all kinds of games and in earlier years she enjoyed trail riding.
She is survived by her four children, Linda Mendenhall and husband, Roger, of Medford, Oregon, Don May and wife, Vivian, Pomeroy, Ohio, Jim Sindelar and wife, Janet, of Ponca City, and Connie Porter of Ponca City two sistersinlaw, Inez Potts and Helen Sindelar 9 grandchildren 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents three husbands her son, Mike Sindelar, twin sister, Cora Hopkins, two sisters, Ruby Krulic and Bonnie Mundell a infant sister, Polly Potts four brothers, Ira Potts, Alfred Potts, Avery Potts and Leonard Potts one soninlaw, Gary Porter.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2011at the Second Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Newport presiding. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
