March 25, 2007 Enid News and EagleA private family burial for Ruth Yvonne McKim, 89, of Blackwell, was held in Resthaven Memorial Park in Ponca City on Friday, March 23, 2007. Arrangements were by Roberts and Son Funeral Home, Blackwell.
She was born April 2, 1917, in Chanute, Kan., to William and Maude Ethel Rauch Hayden, and died Thursday, March 22, 2007, in Blackwell.
She attended school in Coffeyville, Kan., graduating from Coffeyville High School. She married Frank Thompson Dec. 24, 1939, in Castle Rock, Colo. She later married F.M. McKim in 1957. She worked at Dick and Runt’s Cafe for 15 years. She moved to Garber where she worked at Jiffy Trip store until her retirement. She later moved to Blackwell to make her home. She was a member of American Legion, Moose Lodge and Pythian Sisters. She was a member of Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Marylin Irene Winn of Oklahoma City and Carolyn “Shorty” Carruth of Edinburg, Texas; one son, Gale E. Thompson of Buena Park, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to both husbands, she was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to American Cancer Society.
