Billie Louise Ransbottom McKay, long-time resident of Ponca City, OK, passed away at her home on Tuesday, July 15, 2014. She was 84. The funeral service will be held at the First Christian Church 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014, with the Reverend Larry Metzger officiating. Burial will then follow at the Resthaven Memorial Parks in Ponca City, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory.
Billie was born on September 21, 1929, to Bill Ransbottom and Lena (Lindesmith) Ransbottom in KS before moving to Delaware, OK. Billie and her parents moved to Ponca City when she was 14 where she lived the rest of her life. She was married to Donald W. McKay on December 17, 1948, in Ponca City, OK. She worked in the library and in Research and Development for Conoco over 25 years. Billie’s life revolved around her family, friends, and pets. She was happiest when surrounded by her loved ones.
She is survived by a son, Steve McKay and wife Jan of Ponca City, OK, and a daughter, Cindy McKay Morrison and husband John of Oklahoma City, OK. Billie is also survived by her beloved grandchildren-Michael Morrison of Ft. Sill, OK, Paige Morrison of Oklahoma City, OK, Hilary Castle and husband Sean of Panama City Beach, FL, Kim McKay and great-grandson Asher of Bentonville, AR.
Billie was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Anna, her husband, Donald W. McKay, and her parents Bill and Lena (Lindesmith) Ransbottom.

Donald William “Tadpole” McKay, Ponca City resident, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the Ponca City Medical Center. He was 82. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the First Christian Church Chapel with the Rev. Larry B. Metzger, minister of First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will follow at the Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are made under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
Donald was born on Monday, December 28, 1925 in Ponca City, OK to the the late Ralph V. McKay and the late Edna (Wood) McKay. He attended and graduated from Ponca City High School in 1944. In May of 1944 Donald volunteered for service in the Navy. He served on 2 LST’s as a gunner in New Guinea, Okinawa, Iwo Jima, Saipan, and Japan. Donald was honorably discharged in June of 1946. In 1947 He attended Northern Oklahoma Junior College where he obtained his associates degree. He married Billie Ransbottom on December 17, 1948 at the First Christian Church in Ponca City, OK. He worked in the Conoco Refinery. He was a member of the First Christian Church for more than 70 years. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. He was an avid sports fan where he even coached little league baseball and football. He enjoyed working on his crafts and projects, always creating, but most of all he loved having all his children and grandchildren around him to share with his activities.
He is survived by his wife Billie McKay of the home; one son Stephen C. McKay and his wife Jan of Ponca City; one daughter Cindy Morrison and husband John of Oklahoma City, OK, and grandchildren: Kim McKay of San Fransisco, CA, Hilary McKay of Norman, OK, Michael Morrison of Oklahoma City, OK and Paige Morrison of Oklahoma City, OK; one niece Sandra Henderson of Ponca City; two nephews: Monte McKay of Edmond, OK, and Michael McKay of Ponca City; and numerous other great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Anna Louise, brother Ralph, Jr., grandson Daniel Allen McKay, and one great niece Kristin Streeter.
