Bobbie JoAnn Malcom, longtime resident of Ponca City, passed away Monday, August 20, 2012. She was 77 years of age.
Bobbie was born April 15, 1935 in Altus, Oklahoma, the daughter of Floyd Hawthorne and Maudie M. Shields Hawthorne. She was a graduate of Altus High School. She was married and moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma in 1953 where they raised their two daughters. She then was married to Charles Travis C.T. Malcom on May 19, 1979 in Ponca City. The couple resided in Ponca City until Mr. Malcoms passing in December of 2002. Bobbie has continued to reside in Ponca City.
Bobbie had retired from the Accounting Department of Conoco in 1994. She was a longtime member of Woodlands Christian Church which she loved and was dedicated to. She had enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband C.T., and family dinners at her daughter Debbies home. She was dedicated to her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her two daughters, Debbie Lindemann and husband, Tony, of Ponca City, and Diane Lee and husband, Howard, of Rochester, Michigan one sister, Wanda Billington of Texas seven grandchildren, Jennifer Lee, Justin Lee, Jerrod Lee, Ryan OHara, Jessica Lee, Ashley OHara and Shane OHara other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents her husband one brother, Trulon Shields and one sister, Vickie Feldhausen.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2012 at Woodlands Christian Church with Pastor Paul Krueger presiding. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
