Gary Lee Lynes, 84, of Ponca City, OK, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 16, 2021. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at St. Luke's Church of the Nazarene, Ponca City, with Pastor David Frees officiating. Face masks are recommended. Interment will immediately follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, Ponca City. At Gary's request, no viewing will take place. Gary was born on May 15, 1936, in Blackwell, OK, to Harold E. and Pauline (Toepfer) Lynes. He married Sherry Coate on October 29, 1954. He was an avid wrestler, coached youth wrestling for many years, and was inducted into the Ponca City High School Wrestling Hall of Fame. Gary was a Research and Development Senior Research Technologist for Conoco, Inc. for 37 years. He was an active member of St. Luke’s Church of the Nazarene.
Gary is survived by: his wife, Sherry, of the home; sons, Kelsy Lynes and his wife, Becky, of North Richland Hills, TX; Kenin Lynes and his wife, Donna, of Guthrie, OK; Karl Lynes and his wife, Carol, of Ponca City; grandchildren, Kaleb Lynes and his wife, Darenda; Zachary Lynes and his wife, Candice; Colt Lynes and Lauren; Jessica Reeder and her husband, Jack; Nathan Lynes and his wife, Abbey; Jacob Lynes and his wife, Kiersten; Calah Reiswig and her husband, Kip; 12 great-grandchildren with another due in June; sister, Margaret Taiclet, of Ponca City; brother, Harold C. Lynes and his wife, Linda, of Longview, TX, and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Larry Lynes.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Kaleb Lynes, Zachary Lynes, Colt Lynes, Nathan Lynes, and Jacob Lynes, and Kip Reiswig and Jack Reeder.
