Ella Mae (Still) Hinkle

Ella Mae Hinkle, longtime resident of Ponca City, passed away Saturday,
July 5, 2008 at the Ponca City Medical Center. She was 90.
Ella Mae was born May 9, 1918 in Park Hill, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ned Still
and Myrtle (Nave) Still. She was raised at Park Hill and attended the Chilocco
Indian School. Ella Mae was a proud member of the Cherokee Nation. She was
married to Onnie Don Hinkle on April 2, 1937 in Pawnee, Oklahoma. The couple
lived in Escondido, California prior to their return to Ponca City in 1945. Ella
Mae especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren, but also
enjoyed her visits to the McCord Senior Citizens gatherings, playing bingo,
traveling and keeping up with current events.
She is survived by her five children, Herbert P. Hinkle, Onnie Don Hinkle Jr.,
Carol Revard and husband, Judge Doug Revard, and Linda Clark and husband, Ron,
all of Ponca City, and Donna Burns and husband, Dr. Larry Burns, of Stillwater,
Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, Avery Revard, Ariell Revard,
Brooks Revard, Peyton Pearson, Presli Pearson and Keigyn Pearson, with one great
grandson and one great granddaughter, both due in August; two sisters, Sally
Howard and husband, Hugh, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Eva Brown of Broken Arrow,
Oklahoma, and one brother, Marvin Still and wife, Sherry, of Claremore,
Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents;
her husband, Don, on February 7, 1981; one daughter, Faye Johnson; four
brothers, Sam Still, Homer Still, Cook Still and Ned Still Jr.
Funeral services will be held at Faith Tabernacle Church, 501 South 5th Street,
at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2008 with Pastors Don and Norene Stanton
presiding. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery under the
direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
Casket bearers will be her grandsons, Roman Revard, Dylan Burns, Jeremy Clark,
Janson Clark, Scott Pearson, Aaron Bierig and Brett Odum. Honorary casket
bearers will be grandchildren, Keaton Hinkle, Carston Hinkle, Cherokee Hinkle,
Zarah Hinkle, Kimberly Pearson and Laryn Burns Bierig.
Memorial contributions may be made to the McCord Senior Citizens, 115 East Mary
Road, Ponca City, Oklahoma 74604.
