James Ora Dale Davis of Ponca City passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 in Twin Falls, Idaho with his loving family by his side. Jim was 79 years of age. He was born July 29, 1939 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Juanita Ruth Foust Davis and adopted by Leon Ronald Davis.
Graveside services were held Friday, October 12, 2018 in the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Wildman officiating.
Jim grew up in Ponca City and graduated from Po High. He moved to California where he received his associates degree at Mt. San Antonio College. He met the love of his life Charlene Bramwell and 2 weeks later married her. They made California their home. Jim served in the United States Navy, and was honorably discharged for his service. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, retiring after over 30 years of service as a Railroad agent. Jim and Charlene moved back to Ponca City in 2007 . Then when his health began to fail they went back to Idaho to be closer to family. Jim enjoyed fishing, camping, playing cards, and Golf. Jim built a koi fish pond, where he would spend hours watching the fish. Jim also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his Wife of 60 years Charlene of the home; 2 daughters; Wendy Irvin and husband Bill of Twin Falls, Idaho, Kimberly Sartuche and husband Steve of Columbus, Georgia, 1 son; Scott Davis of Idaho Falls, Idaho 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter; Robin Cannell and 1 grandson; Shane Ora Dale Hess, also proceeding him in death was his Faithful companion Cleo his German Shorthair Pointer..
