January 21, 1934 - November 24, 2020

Frances Dean Bogert Davis passed away from Covid 19, on November 24, 2020. Fran was born in Ponca City, OK on January 21, 1934 to Joe and Nora Mae Onstot. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Don Holland, Don Bogert, and Eddie Davis; step-daughters, Virginia Boyd and Kim Davis.

She graduated from Ponca City High School in 1952. She worked at Jay Paris Furniture, First National Bank, Sooner Life and retired from Modern Supply Co. in 1986. Fran lived a very full life from racing stock cars, flying airplanes, and learning to play the accordion. She was an excellent seamstress and passed those skills on to her daughters. Fran sewed her daughter Vickie’s wedding ensemble. Fran also enjoyed doing crewel, Hardanger embroidery, counted cross stitch, decoupage, macramé and crocheting. Other pastimes she enjoyed over the years were bowling, playing bridge, Mahjong and working jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles.

Fran married Don Holland in 1951 and had two daughters, Paula Holland of Colorado and Vickie Peckenpaugh of Ponca City. In 1957 Fran married the love of her life, Don Bogert and had two additional daughters, Gwen Dickson (Mark Dickson) of Ponca City and Cathey Bogert (Marilyn Hays) of Carrollton, Texas. Fran was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Fran and Don had a happy, busy marriage of 33 years until his passing in 1990. In 1995 Fran married Samuel “Eddie” Davis and enjoyed 13 happy years of marriage until his passing in 2007. This union added Eddie’s three children, Virginia, Bruce and Kenneth and their families, which she enjoyed immensely. They cruised all around the world, played bridge and enjoyed spending the winters on South Padre Island.

Fran worked for the Kay County Republican Party serving as Vice Chairman for 8 years and also was elected to be a delegate at the 1984 Republican National Convention. She was the Republican representative on the Kay County Election Board for 30 years. Fran was affectionately known to many as “Narf” (Fran spelled backwards). She enjoyed her last few years living with Gwen and Mark and playing bridge and doing puzzles. Her favorite time of day with her son-in-law was “wine time.”
