Pansy Alice Cobb, Ponca City resident, passed away Monday, March 6, 2006 at the Westminster Nursing Home. She was 100.
The funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at the St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. J.D. Ward, First United Methodist Church, officiating and assisted by Rev. Doug Thatcher, pastor of St. Paul's United Methodist. BuriJuly 26, 2012al will follow at the Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are made under the direction of Trout Funeral Home.
Pansy was born on June 30, 1905, to Charles A. Gossett and Matilda Jane [Duckwall] Gossett in Tuttle, OK.
She graduated Stillwater High School and then attend Oklahoma A&M before she got married.
She married M.L. Cobb, Jr. in Stillwater, OK on December 18, 1926. After their marriage they moved to Ponca City where M.L. went to work for Marland Oil Company.
Pansy and M.L. attended First United Methodist Church all their married years where Pansy was active in U.M.W. and circle group. When Pansy moved to Westminster she transferred her membership to St. Paul's Methodist Church.
She always enjoyed crafts especially crocheting and ceramics. Over the years Pansy was active in Garden Club, Mother's Club, Sewing Club and Airstream Travel Club.
She is survived by her son Charles L. Cobb and his wife Rilla of Ponca City, OK; one daughter Jane Ellen Anderson and her husband Robert L. of Livingston, TX; Five grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and Six great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one grandson.
Casket bearers will be Lee Cobb, Bruce Anderson, Lucas Cobb, Scott Sidwell, R.J. Duckwall, and Max Cobb.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 1904 N. Pecan, Ponca City, OK 74604 or to a charity of your choice.
