Muriel Jean Cartlidge, resident of Ponca City, passed Thursday morning, November 13, 2014 at the Ponca City Medical Center. She was 76 years old.
Muriel was born June 13, 1938 to Argus Leo Osborne and Eva Estes Long Osborne Sasnett. She was the oldest of Evas eight children and a 1956 graduate of McAlester High School. She was married to Carl Cartlidge on October 6, 1961 in Tulare, California.
Muriel and husband are longtime members of the Ponca Free Will Baptist Church. Her enjoyments were her family, her church, sewing, her dogs, thrift shopping, making Christmas candy, and beating her grandkids at cards.
She is survived by her husband, Carl, two children, Renee Khan and husband Jones, of Katy, Texas, Robert Cartlidge and wife Tonya, of Ponca City seven siblings, Nadine Bennett, Shirley Ford, Leo Osborne, Mike Osborne, Judy Osborne, Eddy Sasnett, Harley Sasnett step siblings Marvin and Geneva five grandchildren, Lauren Payne, Cheyenne Megenity, Jared Cartlidge, Jorian Khan and Kanian Khan four great grandchildren, Luke and Madilynn Megenity, Sawyer Baker, Avalynn Muriel Cartlidge and baby girl Payne which is due in April and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her stepfather, Ed Sasnett as well as some stepbrothers and sister.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2014 at the Ponca Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Adam Phillips presiding. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
