Betty L. Blubaugh, longtime resident of the Bressie community, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at her home near Clearwater, Kansas. She was 86 years of age.

Betty was born January 19, 1926 at Bressie, Oklahoma, the daughter of Vern Anderson and Elzina LeRoy Anderson. She attended the Teirney grade school and was a 1943 graduate of Marland High School. She was married to Neil Blubaugh on December 27, 1943 in Ponca City. Betty and her husband Neil were longtime farmers in the Bressie community and in recent years had moved to Clearwater, Kansas to be near their daughter.

Betty had served as President and Secretary of the Bressie Community Womens Club for many years and had also written the Bressie news column for the Ponca City News. She was a longtime member of the Ponca City First Christian Church where she sang in the choir for 30 years. She also had served as an Adult Sunday School teacher, a Wellness Class instructor, Chairperson of the Church Council and President of the CWF. She was a devoted student of the Holy Bible and an avid speed reader of many many books. Betty was an accomplished seamstress and alteration expert when needed. She also was a hairdresser and barber and had given numerous haircuts to her family and others.

Betty is survived by her husband of 68 years, Neil Blubaugh, of the home one daughter, Dana Morrow and husband, Terry, Clearwater, Kansas 5 grandchildren, Leah Gagne and husband, Michael, Debra Morrow, Darcee Bowling and husband, Dusten, Dusti Shilling and husband, Jason, and Richie Blubaugh, and wife, Ashley 15 great grandchildren, Alek Gagne, Woodline Gagne, Tamara Gagne, Maddie Like and husband, Leo, Zachary Morrow, Kyle Knott, Harley Blubaugh, Perry Blubaugh, Olivia Wahpekeche, Damon Bowling, Neil Blubaugh, Charley Blubaugh, Ronald Blubaugh, Andrew Blubaugh and Lillie Blubaugh 1 great great grandchild, Lillian Like one daughterinlaw, Susan Blubaugh Wilson 3 sisters, Peggy Giesen, Sharon Sweeney and husband, Brian, and Edwina Watson and husband, Jim 2 brothers, Larry Anderson and wife, Bonnie, and Vern Anderson and wife, Candy nieces Anne and husband, Mark Schmidt, Myra Giesen and husband, David Graham, Kathy and husband David Jewett and Shirley Giesen Klein. She was preceded in death by her parents one son, Dane Blubaugh and twin brothers at birth.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2012 at the Ponca City First Christian Church with Pastor Larry Metzger presiding. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
