Bill Snodgrass

Graveside services for Bill Snodgrass will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. in Resthaven Memorial Park, Ponca City, with Rev. Trent Baggett officiating. A memorial service is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the Thackerville Methodist Church.

Born March 11, 1909, at Primrose, Nebraska, Mr. Snodgrass died November 20, 1990, in the Love County Health Center, Marietta, at the age of 81.

Mr. Snodgrass had lived in Marietta for three years, moving here from Thackerville where he had made his home for eight years. He married Lucille Gayski July 5, 1952, at Kaw City.

A resident of Ponca City for 36 years, Mr. Snodgrass was a retired farmer and also retired from the Kay County Road Maintenance. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of World War II.

Mr. Snodgrass was a member of the Thackerville Methodist Church and taught an Adult School School class. He was a member of the American Legion and was an active worker with the RSVP meal program until his health failed.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lucille Snodgrass of the home; a son, Jerry Combs of Mesquite, Texas; four sisters, Mrs. Irma Dunfee of Moore, Mrs. May Evans and Mrs. Maud Spangler of Marland, and Mrs. Ruth McAllister of Ponca City; four grandchildren, Jurgen, Jerry Don, Jeffery, and Susan Combs; and two great-grandchildren, Kevin and Dean Combs.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home.
