At the age of 10, he (along with his mother and sister, Joice) moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma. He briefly moved to California City, California, and made life-long friends while attending Mojave High in Mojave, California. Barry returned to Ponca City and graduated in 1990 from Po-High School. He attended Northern Oklahoma College, and Pioneer Vo-Tech where he developed a passion for building and wiring of residential houses. Barry had a fascination with foreign cars from a very young age.
Barry was truly a "son of Ponca City". He would spend hours driving through his city. He poured into his community by opening businesses to empower each and every person that he employed. He never met a stranger, and he never passed up the opportunity to help anyone and everyone that was in need. Barry was a lover of people; once engaged in a conversation, it was extremely hard to walk away from the laughter.
Many recall he was instrumental in their very first purchase of a pager or cell phone, ushering Ponca City into the digital age by opening Cell-U-More. Barry was employed thirty plus years at Johnson Control, formerly ASC, where he worked alongside his mother until her retirement. He enjoyed his final months attending Powerhouse of Faith which is under the leadership of Bishop Johnny Thompson.
Barry was preceded in death by: his mother, Reola Bell-Bealer; his brothers, Fred, John, and A. Herman Bealer, Jr. He leaves to reflect and cherish his memories: four sisters, Betty Jackson of Columbia, South Carolina, Nancy Tyler of Chicago, Illinois, Janice Robinson (Godsey) of Little Rock, Arkansas, Joice Banks of Ponca City, Oklahoma; his niece, whom he assisted in raising, Reola Bealer-Moore (Zacairlos) of Ft. Worth, Texas; and a host of family members that will dearly miss him.
Barry is also survived by: companion, Malinda Jackson; four children he loved as his own, Sasha Haley and Davon Lyons (Hailey) of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Devante (Rachel), and DeAndre Lyons of Edmond, OK. They blessed him with eleven grandchildren that enriched his life tremendously.
