November 25, 1937 - February 19, 2023

Marilyn Rae (Cobb) Randel, 85, of Ponca City, OK, passed away on February 19, 2023 in Tulsa, OK. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 3, 2023, at the First Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. Michael Taylor officiating. A Committal Ceremony will immediately follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave., Ponca City, OK, 74601.

Marilyn was born on November 25, 1937, to Raymond William Cobb and Gladys Evelyn Adams Cobb in Ponca City, OK. Marilyn won the pageant titles of “Baby Ponca” and “Miss Ponca” as a child. She graduated from Ponca City High School in 1955, and married her high school sweetheart, Fred Randel, on June 24, 1956. She developed her love of ballet into a teaching opportunity when she taught both ballet and tap dance lessons to local children at her own studio. She and her loving husband raised their two children, Julie and Jeff, primarily in Ponca City, but also lived in Blackwell, OK. and Houston, TX.

She and Fred attended First Baptist Church Ponca City for nearly 50 years and served as youth Sunday school teachers and in many other areas of service. Marilyn’s relationship with Jesus Christ was paramount in her life and she lovingly modeled her faith to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her legacy is one of both commitment to her faith and family.

Marilyn was also a talented seamstress and skilled quilter.

Other hobbies included knitting, crochet, smocking, camping and hiking with her family. She loved to read mystery novels and travel as well.

Marilyn is survived by: her daughter, Julie (John Quinton) Wood; son, Jeff (Julie) Randel; grandchildren, Leslie (Brett) Gladden, Cameron (Elizabeth) Wood, Evan (Lindsey) Wood, Stuart (Callie) Randel, Tyler (Erin) Randel; great-grand-children, Hollis and Eloise Randel, Andie, Mason, Kye and CJ Wood, Bailey and Owen Wood, Grace Klopfer, Zachary, Trevor and Alexa Gladden; as well as her brothers, Max Cobb and Michael Cobb.
