Robert Gene Moulton
May 4, 1960 - July 21, 2024
Robert "Bobby" Gene Moulton was born May 4, 1960, in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Joyce Robertson Moulton and the late Robert E. Moulton. He was called home Sunday morning, July 21, 2024. He was 64.
He grew up in Ponca City and spent his youth playing baseball. He was known as a really good catcher. He graduated from Ponca City High School in 1978.
Bobby began his career with Dupont in December 1981. He stayed with the company as it went through several mergers and eventually retired from Phillips 66 on August 30, 2023, after 42 years with the company.
Bobby met his wife Carla in 1988 and married her on June 5, 1989. They had four children and had just celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary. He enjoyed catching perch and drop-lining, watching old westerns, going to the movies, watching his kids play sports, and going to eat at Mexican restaurants. He loved to argue politics with certain family members as well.
Throughout his life, Bobby was known for his outstanding work ethic, doing things the right way, and his strength. He loved to arm wrestle and wrestle his children when they were growing up. His children knew when he started to work around the house to scatter or they would be put to work. If they didn't do it right the first time, he would make them redo it until it was right. He didn't believe in cutting corners. If it was worth doing, it was worth doing things right the first time. Along with instilling a good work ethic in his children, he also instilled an unquestionable character. He didn't so much as say this to his children but showed it through his actions.
During his short retirement, he enjoyed working on lawnmower and weed eater motors, watching westerns, and helping his youngest work on things around the house.
Bobby was a quiet, kindhearted man. He loved his family and extended family, always calling and checking on them. If they needed help, he was one of the first people there. He wanted the best for everyone and wasn't afraid to express his opinion to them on how to better their life. He also had two dogs, April and Benji, who he loved as much as his family. When you stopped by to visit, the dogs were always sitting next to him. He was fiercely protective of them all the while fighting them too.
Those left behind to cherish Bobby's memory are his wife of the home, Carla. His children: Chris Moulton and wife Kylie, Robert Warrior and wife Allie, Jeremy Moulton, and Katrina Warrior. His grandchildren: Natalie Chapman, Ashton Powell, Mark Powell, Emily Warrior, Madysen Warrior, Parker Warrior, Maxx Warrior, Paityn Moulton, and Cooper Moulton. His great-grandchildren: Keir White and Kiri White. He also leaves behind his mother, Joyce Moulton; a sister, Sherrie Mavris and husband George; and his brother Jimmie Moulton. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws. He was loved and will be greatly missed by his family and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Moulton.
A visitation for Bobby will be on Tuesday, July 23rd, 2024, from 5-7 p.m. at Grace Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, July 24th, 2024, 10 a.m., at Connect Church, with Pastor Mark Busch officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
