Thelma Mae Michealson
December 12, 1921 - October 30, 2021
Thelma Mae Michealson, age 99, formerly of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away October 30, 2021 at Renaissance of Ponca City, in Ponca City, Oklahoma. A Graveside Ceremony will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Resthaven Memorial Park with Chaplain Tanja Walker officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.
Thelma was born on December 12, 1921, in Ralston, Oklahoma to Donovan and Effie (Van Pelt) Appleman. She grew up in Ponca City and after graduating high school, worked for Continental Oil. On February 13, 1944, Thelma married Leo "Mike" Michealson in Ponca City. To this union brought two children, Linda and Glen. In 1959, the family moved to Blackwell. With children in Jr. high and high school, she began working for Sears in Blackwell, OK.
After retirement, she pursued other interests including sewing quilts, painting and learning the French and Spanish languages. Thelma was a member of Albright United Methodist Church since 1931. She was the third generation to belong to Albright UMC. She was a member of Earnest Seekers Sunday School Class and Dorcas Quilting Group. Thelma moved to the Renaissance in 2017, due to failing health. Her greatest joy was being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include: daughter, Linda Brown, of Tonkawa, OK; son, Glen Michealson and his wife, Kim, of Sandia Park, NM; grandchildren, Robyn Hall and her husband, Chad, of Tonkawa, OK, Kent Brown and his wife, Heather, of Tonkawa, OK, Daniel Brown and his wife, Lacy, of Piedmont, OK, Christopher Michealson and his wife, Dominique, of Waynesburg, PA, Elizabeth Lopez and her husband, Preston, of University Place, WA, Matthew Michealson and his wife, Crystal, of Colorado Springs, CO, and Marisa Michealson of Albuquerque, NM; 11 great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leo Michealson; parents, Donovan and Effie Appleman; sisters, Loraine Crockett, Doris Kitchen; brother, Donald Appleman and son-in-law, Gary Brown.
Pallbearers will be Chad Hall, Kent Brown, Daniel Brown, Austin Hall, Kyle Hall and Matthew Michealson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Christopher Michealson, Preston Lopez, Robyn Hall, Marisa Michealson, Elizabeth Michealson, Dominique Michealson, Crystal Michealson, Heather Brown, and Lacy Jacobs.
