Afton Jane (Durhiem) McBride, long time resident of Ponca City, passed away on April 10, 2022. She was 83.
Afton was born September 5, 1938, to Carl H. and Thelma (Disney) Durhiem in Covington, OK. On August 18, 1957, she married her husband Dwight McBride. To this union, they had five children, Timothy, Kimberlie, Sue, Aaron, and Dovie. She delivered newspapers for the local paper.
Afton is preceded in death by her husband Dwight McBride; parents Thelma and Carl Durhiem; sister Marlene Goddard; daughter Dovie Johnstone; and grandson Jason McBride.
She is survived by children, son Timothy McBride and wife Danita, daughter Kimberlie Martin, daughter Sue McBride, and son Aaron McBride and wife Lori; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Afton's graveside service will take place at Resthaven Memorial Park (1901 E Hubbard Rd, Ponca City, OK 74604) on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at 2:00 PM. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.
