In Loving Memory of Leah Gayle Long, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend,

Leah Gayle Long, born December 1, 1966, to Richard and Gayle Conrad in Ponca City, Oklahoma, departed this world on December 17, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A proud member of the Cherokee Nation and a long-term resident of Shidler, Leah lived a life rich in love, kindness, and cherished moments with family and friends.

In her youth, Leah was a vibrant and active individual. An enthusiastic learner, she balanced her academics with a passion for sports, excelling as a basketball player, cheerleader, and musician, playing the clarinet. She nurtured her love for animals through her involvement in 4-H, raising sheep and showcasing her dedication to hard work.

Among her many joys in life was the time spent with her grandparents fishing and camping in Red River, New Mexico. These moments outdoors held a special place in her heart, fostering a lifelong appreciation for nature and family bonding.

As Leah transitioned through various roles in life, she displayed a remarkable work ethic, holding management positions and traversing the country as a skilled semi-truck driver. To accompany this trade, she was also a certified mechanic. Her culinary prowess was undeniable, and she delighted in sharing her cooking talents with those she loved. Leah also enjoyed the time she spent as a custodian with the Shidler School system and visiting with all the students while at work. Her family meant everything to her. Leah's fondest memories revolved around board games, singing, dancing, and attending the annual Cherokee National Holiday in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Proud of her Native American heritage, she found joy in celebrating and honoring her roots at pow-wows. A compassionate soul, Leah's caring nature touched countless lives. Her selflessness knew no bounds, as she consistently prioritized others' well-being, even during her own challenging times. Her kindness and generosity were an inspiration to all who knew her. Even in her last weeks, she shared joy and love to every care giver she encountered. Her nieces and nephews held a special place in Leah's heart. She showered them with love and endless fun, creating lasting memories filled with trampolines, go-karts, motorcycles, games, Silver Dollar City, and unwavering support at every milestone in their lives.

Leah is survived by her loving mother, Billie Gayle Conrad of Shidler; her brother, Lance Conrad, and his wife, Marcie, of Fort Worth; her sister, Kimberlee Conrad, and her fiancé , Johnny Hardiman, of Shidler; her beloved nephews: Devin Conrad and wife Katie, Dominic Conrad and wife Michelle, and Christian Conrad, cherished nieces: Cameron Conrad and Keilee Morris, and numerous endeared aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The Conrad family extends heartfelt gratitude to all friends and family for their unwavering support during Leah's illness. Special appreciation goes to the caregivers, especially those at Porta Caeli House, for their compassionate care. She gained her wings with dignity and peace surrounded with immense love.

A celebration of Leah Gayle's life will be held at Grace Memorial on Saturday, December 23, at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be held Friday, December 22, 2023 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. with the family in attendance from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City. Interment will follow in the sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Leah's legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering support will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her vibrant spirit and caring nature will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to share in her life.
