May 5, 1930 - August 21, 2024

Darleen Lora Schulz Duerr passed away into the arms of her loving Heavenly Father on August 21, 2024.

She was born on May 5, 1930, on a farm near Pleasant Dale, Nebraska to Henry and Lora Lindner Schulz. She was confirmed on April 10, 1943 at Zion Lutheran, Garland. She attended Garland, Nebraska High School and graduated in 1947 as valedictorian of her class. She took a steno class at Lincoln School of Commerce in Lincoln, Nebraska. She then worked for the Dept. of Agriculture ASC.

She met her husband, Kenneth E. Duerr and was married in 1951. They were married for 56 years. They had one child, Kathleen.

Darleen was a life-time member of First Lutheran Church where she was church secretary for a few years. She was active in LWML and helped make quilts for Lutheran World Relief. She was an avid homemaker and cook.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Kenneth, brother, Merle and granddaughter, Melinda.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen and husband, Tim; grandsons Matthew, Michael and wife Rachel; grandsons, Henderson (Sky), Natalie, Janelle, Jack, Carson and Kaley. She is also survived by her sister, Wilma Richters of York, Nebraska and sister-in-law, Carole Schulz of Seward Nebraska. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A viewing will take place on Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 10 AM - 8 PM, with family present from 6 PM - 8 PM, at Trout Funeral Home, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601. Her funeral service will be Friday, August 30, 2024, at 10 AM, at First Lutheran, with Pastor Joseph Highley officiating, 1101 N 4th St, Ponca City, OK 74601. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, Ponca City. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.
