December 5, 1965 - February 17, 2023

Grant Edward Dawson, 57, of Ponca City, OK, left this life on February 17, 2023. Viewing will be from 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at Trout Funeral Home. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Trout Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will immediately follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave., Ponca City, OK, 74601.

Grant was born to Eddie and Jonet Dawson on December 5, 1965 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. He attended Trout Elementary, East High School and graduated from Ponca City High School in 1987. During the time he was in high school, Grant trained on small engines at the Vocational Tech Center. He especially enjoyed his training at the Opportunity Center where he learned how to screen print on t-shirts and sweatshirts. Grant eventually moved to the Opportunity Center and made many friends while he lived there.

He enjoyed all the activities and events there, especially their trips out for dinner. Grant loved football and basketball. He attended many of the hometown games of the POHI Wildcats! He was a huge Oklahoma State fan and enjoyed watching all of their games, and even has a picture taken with Coach Gundy. He would keep up with all their games and scores year after year. Grant could also tell you anything you wanted to know them or about his other favorite, the Dallas Cowboys. He followed them faithfully and was a true fan.

He enjoyed watching all of the games with his family and friends. Grant loved his family he enjoyed playing video games and looking things up on the computer with his nephews and his brother. He also loved spending time in the workshop with his Dad. Grant attended and loved his church, First Baptist Church of Ponca City.

Grant is preceded in death by his father, Eddie Dawson, and his mother, Jonet Dawson. He is survived by his brother Lindsey Dawson and wife Annette Dawson, his nephews, Josh Dawson and Andrea Dawson, Hunter Dawson and Courtney Dawson, Trevor Dawson and Brittany Dawson and grandniece Olivia Dawson and grandnephew Thatcher Dawson.

He was greatly loved and he will be greatly missed.
